Under the Rocks

This is an ongoing public performance series that started in 2011 with Ramzi Hibri at the California Institute of the Arts as a peaceful protest. Since then, each version has different spontaneous outcomes. In the May 2024 version, UMBC students walked by, whispered and asked questions as I lay under heavy debris on the campus courtyard. One student asked if it was a protest of the nonstop school construction. Another said that they thought it was about Gaza.
